SUPPORT CAMBODIAN CHILDREN THROUGH THIS CRISIS

We are now in the midst of a global crisis.  More and more Cambodian families are experiencing severe poverty.  We need your help to ensure the most vulnerable children in Cambodia are not left behind.

Be a Changemaker

More and more families are being pushed into poverty as the inequality pandemic soars. Education is the key to a better future for Cambodian children.

Impacts of COVID-19 on Cambodia:

Although case numbers of COVID-19 remain low in Cambodia, the economic impacts are already visible and escalating rapidly. Tourists numbers to Angkor Wat are down 99%. Garment factories are closed. Vulnerable children and disadvantaged families are suffering the most. Schools have been closed since March and there is growing unease that school dropouts will substantially increase when schools do return.  This cannot be allowed to happen. Cambodian children deserve an education.

We are doing everything we can - but we need your help. Your support is vital in our efforts to bring change through education.

Our Response:
  • The Conditional Cash Payment (CCP) Program provides support to families whose household income is less than AU$100/£54/€61 a month. Parents are provided with small cash payments on condition that their children continue in education.
  • In Cambodia there are many challenges with IT and remote learning. Teachers are being asked by the Ministry to visit families in their homes and so we are creating resources aimed at helping making those visits productive while also developing the skills of the teacher. By developing resources we are supporting teachers to improve learning for children during this period of COVID-19 and beyond.

Support is needed now.
