SeeBeyond10 A Milestone Event SeeBeyond10 A Milestone Event

SeeBeyondBorders celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special night in Sydney. SeeBeyond10 was held in Athol Hall. Over 160 guests were in attendance for an evening of reflection. Attendees included journalist Rita Bratovich who has written a piece for our website.

SeeBeyondBorders held its most successful fundraising event ever with its 10th Anniversary celebration, SeeBeyond10, in early May. On an unusually balmy Autumn evening, over 160 invited guests attended the cocktail style function co-hosted by Athol Hall in their beautifully restored historic venue overlooking Sydney Harbour. They served premium wines and delicious, freshly prepared canapés while guests mingled and enjoyed the stunning city views. Exposed white timbers of the interior and ethereal blue light gave the room a special ambience. SeeBeyondBorders staff and enlisted family members were on hand to ensure everyone felt welcome and to help with fundraising activities. The formal part of the evening took place at the far end of the hall where white cafe chairs provided audience seating and a temporary stage had been set up for interviews.

A night to remember for our wonderful team.

Australian General Manager, Andy Wade acted as MC, welcoming attendees, introducing the special guests, and regaling the crowd with humorous banter. Co-founder, Ed Shuttleworth was then interviewed by journalist, Giulia Sirignani. He shared the inspirational origin story of SeeBeyondBorders, its incredible achievements over the past 10 years, and his aspirations for the future. Giulia also interviewed Jenny McCredie, whose respect and admiration for the work SeeBeyondBorders does is underscored by her vast experience in education.

Experienced educator Jenny was interviewed by Giulia about her experiences.

Audience members were then treated to the beautifully produced pledge video projected onto a screen.

After a short break, the bidding began for each of the many generously donated auction items. It was feverish and fun and more than a little competitive.

By the end of the evening, funds raised from the sale of event tickets, auction items, copies of Offerings (SeeBeyondBorders produced cookbook), and many very generous pledges, completely exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Looking forward to transforming more lives through education

SeeBeyondBorders acknowledges its strong and diverse support base which includes teachers, community groups, and individuals, as well as the 16 corporate partners who sponsored the event.
