Upcoming Departures and Destinations

Information session

An information session for the 2012-2013 'Teach the Teachers' programmes will be held on Friday, 24 February 2012. Please refer to the Information Flyer here.

Itineraries

The trip details pdf documents below show itineraries from recently completed programmes, which can be used as an example for future trips. Itineraries are developed in line with current projects and according to local conditions, therefore details have not yet been finalised for all of the 2012-2013 trips.

The upcoming departures below (June, September and January) relate to 'Teach the Teachers' programmes. Trips for volunteers who are not teachers are also available during 2012; please contact us if you wish to get a group together so we can organise dates and itineraries to suit your preferences. (See also 'For Individuals and Groups' at right.)

What's Involved

A trip involves preparation (what to expect), the trip (the in-country experience) and follow-up (reflections and learnings).

Trip costs are $1,000 plus a minimum project donation of $1,250, which is tax deductible. Travel to and from the in-country programme is not included in the trip costs.

The trip costs cover accommodation, in-country travel, cultural and sightseeing activities, and group meals. The project donation is specific to each programme and may include classroom resources, expenses for the Khmer teachers to attend the SeeBeyondBorders workshops, building materials, school nutrition and health programmes, etc. Participants are encouraged to fundraise for their project donation. Further information about trip programmes is available via the links to the right.

If you are interested to find out more, please register your interest for an upcoming trip via the link at the bottom of this page. Itinerary details will be uploaded to the website as soon as they are confirmed.

Booking Conditions

The main requirement is that you are fit and healthy, able to do some physical work and walk as part of any sightseeing activities. More important is keeping an open mind, not expecting luxurious living and empathising with others in your own group as well as in the communities you visit. Everyone is made to feel welcome and part of the group.
