Ways to get involved are described in more detail below:

Professional Support

Volunteering your skills to support us is of great value to us. We seek to direct as much of our financial resources as possible to our programs in Cambodia, so are constantly looking for those generous enough to give us some time free of charge. You may choose to donate a small amount of time regularly, or give us your time for a specific period or project.

If you have professional experience in fundraising, marketing and communications, graphic design, development, legal risk management, auditing, project management, construction or IT, we particularly need you!

On a volunteer basis, we are currently seeking:

  • An auditor
  • A risk management specialist
  • A project manager
  • An IT specialist
  • A fundraiser
  • A development expert
  • A civil engineer
  • A willing pair of hands
Contact Us and tell us what skills and time you have available.

Volunteer in our Office

There is always something that needs doing at the Sydney office and there are many skilled work areas where we require support. We are also interested in potential volunteers based in the United Kingdom, as we build our United Kingdom operation.

Currently we are looking for volunteers for various projects, which can be short-term or long-term, with flexible working hours. For example:

  • Copywriter / Public Relations
  • Volunteer coordinator / organiser
  • Website developer / programmer (using Expression Engine)
  • Grant application writer
  • Photo librarian
  • Data entry

Please register your interest in volunteering in our office.

Corporate Volunteer Days

Corporate volunteer days are a great way for companies to get involved with the community by helping SeeBeyondBorders
fundraise for our vital programs.

We have limited capacity for a group of your staff to work with us on a single day in the year. Your staff will assist us by participating in one of our fundraisers, which are fun, competitive and engaging. Our team will work with you to create a tailored volunteering program for your staff, so we require as much notice as possible to make arrangements.

Contact Us about volunteer days.

Fundraise

Fundraising for SeeBeyondBorders is a great way to support our work and have fun at the same time. Whether it's a school activity, fun run, or barbeque, SeeBeyondBorders can provide you with the advice, tools and support to help you maximise the potential of your fundraising activity or event. We have a kit to help you manage donations, or you might consider using a tailored page for us on Everyday Hero.

Please note that if you want to fundraise for us we are required to register your event or activity and provide you with an Authority to Fundraise form.

Contact Us for information and fundraising resources.

Join our Advisory Group

Do you have the time and interest to be able to help us? Our Advisory Group does just that – advises the CEO on the best course of action and how to allocate funding. This is not the same as a Board – this is not about oversight, this is about support. We need professional skills to help guide our way. Please see some of the skills we need in PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT but this is no ultimate limitation to your involvement.

Please nominate yourself for our Advisory Group and receive additional information about the group’s role.

Long-term volunteering in Cambodia

We are actively seeking volunteers who are interested in working in Cambodia for periods of six months or more. We need people who can help further develop the Teach the Teacher program and offer professional development to our Cambodian staff. Volunteers can be based in Battambang, Siem Reap or Kampong Cham. Applicants should possess a good level of composure and resilience, ideally with travel or work experience overseas.

SeeBeyondBorders will provide an allowance which would generally cover accommodation costs at a basic comfort level. The volunteer would be required to fund all other aspects of the trip including, medical costs, travel (other than in-country associated with the assignment) and daily living costs.

Contact Us for further information or to apply.

Helping in Australia (teachers)

There are many opportunities for both teachers and non-teachers to engage with and support SeeBeyondBorders in Australia, including:

  • Assist in writing and extending the program into different aspects of the curriculum and grades not already covered.
  • Teaching and preparing teachers for their time in Cambodia.
  • Reaching teachers interested in volunteering in Cambodia who live and work in places other than central Sydney.
  • Assistance in engaging schools, including developing integrated units with a focus on different aspects of Cambodia.
  • Assisting with fundraising activities in school communities.

Contact Us if you are interested in getting involved.
