What our program sponsors say about us...

John Falzon, Chief Executive Officer, LMS Energy Pty Ltd

“I had the opportunity to witness first-hand the great work that the SeeBeyondBorders team is accomplishing abroad in March 2011. I spent a week visiting several projects, including those where school development and teacher training were underway. The progress and compassionate work of this team was extremely eye-opening, and a great life experience for those who participate, most importantly enhancing the lives of Cambodian teachers and children. LMS continues to support SeeBeyondBorders, and encourages those who are genuinely concerned for others to participate, or financially contribute to the development of education for children in Cambodia. After all, it is a great investment!”

Michael Muehlheim, Macquarie Private Wealth

“I was part of a Macquarie team that ran in the Sydney City to Surf - we named the team Sea Beyond Bondi. This team was a group of like-minded individuals who trained and fundraised together for a cause we believe in – that change begins with education, and Cambodians deserve this. It was important to team members that every dollar raised would go directly towards a project – in this case a Teach the Teacher Maths Program.

"Not only do Cambodians benefit, but we did also, bonding as a team, which has in turn improved our workplace relationships and our loyalty and goodwill towards Macquarie; the Macquarie Group Foundation matched our fundraising dollar for dollar. The Macquarie Group Foundation have also endorsed SeeBeyondBorders as a chosen charity for their payroll giving program, matching each dollar an employee donates from their salary to SeeBeyondBorders. We endorse SeeBeyondBorders’ vision whole heartedly and commend a commitment you can make as individuals and corporate citizens to be part of something great!”

KAPE (Kampuchean Action for Primary Education)

KAPE grew out of the Cambodia Assistance to Primary Education Project (CAPE) a national project begun in April 1996 aimed to improve instructional quality in school clusters. Following the closure of the project, a group of committed CAPE staff at the Kampong Cham provincial project site persisted with their efforts. In cooperation with the Provincial Office of Education, they formed a committee garnering official status to follow up on technical activities. By 1999, the committee had evolved into a non-profit local NGO known as KAPE. The similarity in names was intentional, emphasizing continuity between the two projects. A significant difference at KAPE has always been the presence of localized management.

SeeBeyondBorders runs Teach the Teacher workshops in conjunction with KAPE in Kampong Cham district.

Dhammayietra

Dhammayietra, Mongkol Borei is the name given to the annual peace marches or pilgrimages across Cambodia commemorating the first such journey undertaken in 1992. That was the year the United Nations sponsored a peace agreement between all factions which led to the first elections in a generation and the return to Cambodia of many who had been living in camps at the borders. Led by Maha Ghosananda dubbed "the Gandhi of Cambodia" the aim was to begin to restore hope and spirit to the Cambodian people.

We support communities that Dhammayetra works with, in particular in conjunction with their Old Peoples' Association initiatives whereby communities are reintegrating their elderly as members of the community who can contribute to caring for those who are sick or educating the next generation.

Jesuit Services Cambodia

Jesuit Services Cambodia is an organisation dedicated to establishing reconciliation, peace and justice and the full human development of people hurt by war, oppression and exile, in Cambodia. SeeBeyondBorders has been greatly assisted by this organisation with many of its programmes. Its remarkable achievements as well as the dedication of its staff has been one of the main sources of inspiration behind our own tentative steps towards understanding what are sustainable ways to empower those living in poverty to achieve real change.

Children's Future International

Children's Future International's vision helps children achieve their human potential.  Based in Battambang, CFI has opened a community education facility for children of families that need support in order to educate their children. CFI works with vulnerable children who are at high risk of continued neglect, abuse and exploitation. SeeBeyondBorders fully supports the mission and objectives of CFI and is looking to develop ways in which practical assistance can be provided as the school and centre gets established in the coming months.
